If you would like to be considered as a vendor at the Mifflinburg Christkindl Market, please read the Terms and Conditions below.  At the bottom is a link to the applications.

Terms and Conditions
for craft and food vendor participation in the Mifflinburg Christkindl Market

  • SPACE: You will have an 8’ X 10’ Christkindl hut, a 10’ X 12’ barn or if pre-approved, your own set-up.  If you are a new vendor, or if you are using a new setup, you will need to have it pre-approved.  Please enclose pictures with your application.  Food Vendors, please note…. no cooking may be done in a 10’ X 12’ barn.

  • SET UP / BREAK DOWN TIMES: Set up time Wednesday after 3:30pm and Thursday from 9am - 3pm.  Please park as close to booth as possible, unload, and move vehicle as quickly as possible.  DO NOT block street.  No vehicles on the street after 3:00pm Thursday.  No vehicles on the street for breakdown until after 9pm Saturday.  Please, NO LOUD NOISE during closing ceremony.  There will be complimentary coffee and cookies at the MHRA booth during setup.

  • ELECTRICITY: The booth will have a ceiling light fixture with a 100 watt bulb.  Craft vendors total electric load should not exceed 1200 watts including the original 100 watt light bulb.  Additional capacity can be provided at special request.  Food venders electrical needs will be determined based on appliances listed, so please be accurate.

  • HEAT: NO electric space heaters are permitted... this will be enforced.  Other heaters may be used at your own risk.  For safety reasons we encourage propane heaters instead of kerosene heaters.  Please, NO 'personal' coffee pots or soup pots.

  • FIRE PREVENTION: ALL food vendors are required to supply their own FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

  • JURY INFORMATION for CRAFT VENDORS: Item's for sale will be approved at the committee's discretion to assure the Mifflinburg Christkindl Market remains as authentic as possible.  All new craft vendors must send pictures representative of all items to be sold and returning craft vendors should send pictures of only new items to be sold.

  • SPACE ASSIGNMENT: All space assignments will be posted at the MHRA booth in the center of the market (5th St and Market St).  Volunteers will be available to assist you in finding your location.  Please let us know if you have any special needs. 

  • REST ROOMS: Portable Toilets, as well as several inside toilets, are located through the market.  There is one portable toilet located just South of the Pyramid on 5th St marked 'Vendor Use Only'.

  • ATM MACHINE: There is an ATM machine located 1 block East of the market

  • BOOTH APPEARANCE: You are required to tastefully decorate the inside of your booth, preferably with the Christkindl theme for the year.  Walls should be covered and your personal touch added.  Staples, nails or screws may be used but must be removed at the end of the market and the booth must be free of debris, (no staples, nails or screws may be used on the outside of barns).  There will be an award for Best Decorated Vendor.  Tables and chairs are not provided.  There is a bracket provided on huts for a vendor sign, and will accommodate a sign up to 14 inches wide.  The hooks for hanging sign are on an 11 inch center.

  • SNOW REMOVAL: In the event of snow, vendors are responsible for removing snow from the roof and front of your booth.

  • BOOTH OPERATION: Your booth must be open for business and attended during ALL market hours.  Failure to comply may jeopardize your attendance at future markets.  If you run out of an item, please have a back up plan, such as a display of some type, to keep your booth open.

  • HUT TARPS: Do not remove tarps from huts.  They can be rolled up and tied when you are open and let down at night.  Please roll up and tie at end of market before you leave,

  • CLEANUP: At close of Market, please clean up ALL food and garbage from in and around your booth and place it in one of the large roll off dumpsters.  Food Vendors, Please DO NOT put any cooking oil in the dumpsters.  Cooking oil containers may be set next to the dumpster for disposal.

  • OVERNIGHT SECURITY: Security will be provided 9pm through 6am; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

  • LIABILITY:

    • MHRA and the Christkindl committee are not responsible for any damage or injury done to the vendor, to vendor's employees or agents, or to anyone else, or to the vendor's property or the property of the vendor's employees, agents or anyone else by reason of any cause whatsoever, including water, fire, theft, other casualty loss, or act of nature.  Any property belonging to vendor, vendor's employees, or agents on the site of the Market event, is left at your own risk.  MHRA and the Christkindl committee are not responsible for lost, damaged (including damaged by weather), or stolen goods.  The vendor agrees not to hold MHRA or the Christkindl committee responsible in any way.

    • Liability insurance is required for ALL vendors.  Please enclose a copy of your certificate of insurance with your application.

  • FOOD SAFETY CERTIFICATION: Please check the box on the application if someone in your organization is food safety certified and enclose a copy of your certificate.

  • VENDOR COMMITMENT: By signing the vendor application, vendor agrees to abide by these 'Terms and Conditions'.  MHRA and the Christkindl committee reserve the right to cancel present and future participation upon any violation of the above mentioned 'Terms and Conditions'.

  • MARKET THEME: The theme for the 2012 Mifflinburg Christkindl Market is 'The Glow of Christmas'

  • APPLICATION PROCESS: Applications will be accepted beginning May 1st each year.  Application must be mailed to appropriate chairperson, food or craft, with PAYMENT IN FULL, no exceptions.  Returning vendor's applications must be postmarked by June 1st.  Any vendor applications postmarked after June 1st will be treated as a new vendor.   New vendor applications will be accepted beginning June 1st if space is available.  You will receive an email or a postcard upon receipt of your application.

  • SPACE FEES: 2012 FEES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

    • CRAFTS:

      • Christkindl Craft Hut (8' X 10') - $175

      • Christkindl Craft Barn (10' X 12') - $300

      • Own Set-Up (MUST be pre-approved)

        • up to 10' - $175

        • 11' - 20' - $300

    • FOODS:

      • Christkindl Food Hut (8' X 10') - $200

      • Christkindl Food Barn (10' X 12') - $300

      • Own Set-Up (MUST be pre-approved)

        • up to 10' - $200

        • 11' - 20' - $325

  • REFUND POLICY: Once accepted as a vendor, all fees are Non Refundable.
